The church of Christ the King
The church was built in 1938 and features the largest mosaic in the Nordic countries. The mosaic was gifted to the parish by the Pope Pius XII and it was finished in 1951. It’s surrounded by beautiful frescoes painted by professor Gebhard Utinger.
The mosaic and the frescoes were recently renovated. The Christ crucified and the choir of Angels on the arches surrounding the Sanctuary are visible after being hidden for more than 60 years. We are still fundraising and deeply grateful for your donations. Please mark your donation with “angels”.
